Beaton,
Allister, A., 61, South Side Harbour, Antigonish County died January 3,
2004 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Augustine and Mae (Boyd)
Beaton.
Allister was a commercial fisherman who ran the vessel 'Rusty Rhen'. He
was a member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and was an avid
hockey fan.
He is survived by his wife Sharon (Boudreau); sons: Darrel (Betty),
Dwayne and Jonathan of South Side Harbour; Scott (Cheryl), Hamilton,
Ont.; Shane (Laura), Swan Hills, Alberta; Garrett (Leah), Antigonish;
daughters: Lynn (Leaman) Hayden, Pictou Landing; Lisa (Art) Matheson,
Miramichi, N.B.; Sheryl (Eddy) Chisholm, Pine Tree, Pictou Co.,; Tanya
(Mark) Donnelly, Dartmouth; sister: Ann (Herb) Elliott, Edmonton,
Alberta; brother: Donald, South Side Harbour; grandchildren: Kadi,
Finley, Sara, Rhen, Leighton. Rusty James, Julia, Becky, Jacob, Dawson,
Denver, Makenzie and Madison.
He was predeceased by sons: Todd and Kyle.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street,
Antigonish Sunday, January 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from
2:00 pm until time of funeral at 6:00 pm in Ste Croix Church, Pomquet
with Reverend P.J. Baccardax officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Society, c/o St.
Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish.
