In 1998, GMAC
Home Services, a division of GM Corp., purchased Better Homes & Garden Real
Estate, one of the nation's largest real estate franchises, from Meredith Corp.
Today, GMAC Home
Services, under the direction of longtime industry veteran John Bearden, is well
positioned to bring the gamut of home services to real estate brokers, sales
associates and consumers. To accomplish this, GMAC Home Services calls on its
own real estate, relocation and mortgage divisions, its relationship with parent
company General Motors, as well as the strengths of sister companies such as
GMAC Mortgage. As a result of these vast resources, GMAC Home Services can bring
added services and cost savings to consumers and an industry that's long been
promised, "one-stop shopping."
These services
range from cost savings on automobiles for sales associates, to providing home
